 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who is Little Parsley Farm?
We are Tensi Parsons and Keefe Crowley. Together we are Little Parsley Farm (Parsons + Crowley = Parsley). For 18 years, Keefe pushed the gardening limits of our tiny plot we had in Marquette. Since purchasing and moving to the farm property in 2016, are excited to unleash the possibilities of this 10-acre plot of mixed agricultural land here at Little Parsley Farm!

Where are you located?
We are located at 300 Little Lake Rd. Marquette, Michigan in Chocolay township. We are in the Beaver Grove / Harvey area, which is just 10 minutes south of downtown Marquette.

Do you use chemical fertilizers or pesticides?
We do not! Little Parsley Farm uses sustainable, organic, non-GMO, permaculture methods to produce consistently high-quality fruits and vegetables. We do not use chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides of any type. And in case you were wondering, we utilize three hoop houses, and a small greenhouse for season extension.

What do you grow?
We grow a variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and edible flowers.

What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a system by which people purchase a share from a local farm and periodically receive vegetables and other agricultural products throughout the farming season. It is a chance for you to have a relationship with a farmer, and to know where your food comes from. And the early season payment helps the farmer's cash flow, providing income at a time of year when cash flow is low, and when supplies are needed to start the farming season. For more information on CSA just jump over here.

How to buy/sign up for your CSA?
Go to our online CSA signup form, fill it out, and we'll send you an invoice. We accept cash, check or credit card, and other electronic payment types. You may deliver your payment to:

How long is your CSA season?
We offer our CSA shares from mid-June through October for a total of 17 weeks.

How can I pay?
We will send you an invoice for your order then you may pay via cash, check, GooglePay, ApplePay, Venmo, or credit card.  You can pay for the entire season up front, or you can make a 50% down payment, and then pay your remaining balance later.

What can I expect in my share?
With our weekly shares, we try to offer as much as the growing season will allow. We are excited to include a thoughtful and interesting mix of seasonal vegetables that contains not only expected staples (tomatoes, carrots, onions, lettuce), but also some vegetables that might be less familiar (broccoli greens, eggplant, unique peppers). Each week we include a letter insert with storage and cooking suggestions, along with recipes that coordinate with that week's offerings to help you feel confident in the kitchen.

What if I want more than what’s in my share?
No problem! We are happy to take your custom order in addition to your share offerings. Just drop us an email or text with your selections and we'll add them to your share that week for an extra charge, or you can schedule a time to pick it up from the farm. Please pay at time of pickup.

What if I want to order bulk items for canning, etc.?
We can occasionally accommodate these special orders. Please contact us for availability and pricing.

Do you offer an end-of season Harvest share?
Yes! At the end of October, just in time for soup season, and comfort-food season, we will hand select a variety of in-season fall favorites for your cozy meals. Some selections may be winter squash, potatoes, Brussels sprouts, beets, carrots, onions, garlic, etc.

I’m still not sure… What if I’m not familiar with something you’re offering, or I don’t know how to cook it?
Don’t worry! Each week we include recipes along with cooking tips for the items in that week's share. And you can always email us with any questions. Recipes can be requested at any time.

That all sounds delicious, but I just can't commit to a CSA at this time. How else can I buy your vegetables?
We understand! If our 17-week or even 4-week CSA model is too much for you, we will be at the Marquette Farmers Markets May through the first couple weeks of November. And we are at the downtown Negaunee Market June through September. You can also occasionally find our produce at the Marquette Food Co-op and at Lakeshore Depot in Marquette.

What else do I need to know?
We strive to make our CSA easy, simple, and convenient for you—and for us. We all share in the risk and the reward of the season. We thank you for supporting us, your locally grown community agriculture. In general, we do not offer refunds. We will try and work with you if you cannot pick up your share at your designated time. We encourage you to share your box with a friend or neighbor if you find yourself unable to pick up your share.

What do you mean we share in the risks and the rewards?
Little Parsley Farm feels a great sense of responsibility to our members. While there can be ups and downs, we are in this together, creating a sense of community. To learn more, jump over here.
